Autumn Term (Buildings in Past) 

Textiles 

Purpose:	- to tear, cut straight / curved lines. 

		- to cut fabric. 

		- to classify threads / fabric. 

Task:	          - to make a decorative wall hanging. 

Activity:	1) Look at pictures of Bayeux Tapestry and pictures of other 
		  tapestries  (e.g. William Morris) . 
                       Discussion of why used, what made of. 

		2) Children make a simple waving using fabric and threads on 
                         weaving card. 

		3) Take from card and hang all on stick to make on hanging. 

Assessment:	- can they weave?
