Spring Term 

Sculpture ( Romans ) 

Purpose:	- create simple shapes from paper and card. 

		- make armative to support work. 

Task:	             - make some Romanesque style jewellery. 

Activity:	1) Look at pictures of people wearing jewellery. most 
                             jewellery was made of gold and decorated with metal
                             fretwork with semi precious stones inset. 

		2) Create textured effect by rubbing side of crayon on 
                             coloured paper over creased adhesive tape. 

		3) Cut into ovals or circles. 

		4) Cut gold paper into rectangles and decorate with gold 
                             papers and gemstones. 

		5) Draw details in gold pen or crayon. 

		6) Glue several together to make display. 

		7) Design a museum case and label 'exhibits' 

Assessment:	- development of personal cutting and design skills.
